ASA Grassroots Symposium

The Alberta Soccer Association is excited to provide you and your players with the exciting opportunity to participate in the ASA Grassroots Symposium. The Symposium will teach the Preferred Training Model which is promoted by FIFA, for grassroots soccer players. The aim is to provide a positive springboard from which communities may develop their grassroots soccer program. The model focuses on teaching technical skills in a FUN atmosphere.

  • Coaches and players: The Alberta Soccer Association is looking for 60-80 players and 8-12 volunteer coaches to participate in the Festival. Coaches will be required to attend a pre-festival briefing at the Calgary Soccer Centre and are required to register for this event and be in attendance on Charlie Field at 3:00pm. The 60 minute players Festival will commence at 3:30pm and be hosted by the volunteer coaches. There is no preparation required for this event, just a commitment to be in attendance at the field between 3:00-5:00pm
  • Administrators and parents: Coaches, administrators and parents are invited to attend the Grassroots Symposium meetings at the Calgary Minor Soccer Office between 2:00-3:00pm and then further at 5:00-6:30pm, to find out more about how Alberta Soccer is supporting the development of Grassroots Soccer Programming.
